This was my attempt at making a 50's-ish song, with the four channel instrument recording equaled out in the way it is and whatnot. It was supposed to go into another song, which was intended to finish out the album, but I ended up scrapping it. Instead, I ended with this ode to heartbreak, which I'm perfectly okay with. I think it was a good way to wrap up the album.
lyrics
Oh, she’s gone! And I don’t know what to do
I loved that girl, then she played me for the fool
There wasn’t bad intentions, but it hurts so much to know
I’ll never have her back, but I just can’t let her go
She’s gone, she’s gone
She was my white cloud when I felt oh so blue
But it’s a clear sky today with a chance of nothing but loving you
So I sit here, head in hand, and I know it’s a crying shame
But I was the victim of that fickle, old love game
She’s gone, she’s gone
I remember it like yesterday, cool wind in her hair
Oh how she looked at me, oh how she held my stare
She looked deep into my eyes, and said, “I love you”
And all I could say was, “Darlin’, I love you too”
It was love or so I thought, what we had, me and her
But she took it all away, and left my heart in a deep winter
I wish I could turn it back to the way it used to be
But I’m all alone now, and the only thought that gets through to me
“She’s gone, she’s gone, she’s gone…”
